What do i see?

How do we see more clearly?  How do i do it? What does it mean? and What will happen?  Do i need some new specs? or is it a lens? I suspect we agree that the opportunity to engage in art or good art based activity allows you to see the world differently, to have renewed perception, to meet new people, to be enriched and not necessarily financially - to ultimately see clearer. Drawing then seems often like a very direct way to do this, yet many are often put off by it and by our inability to produce lovely things we value [as F Matarasso would say - art can do damage]. We are deskilled by confidence knocks and we are in one sense intimidated into having 'dry eyes'. So of course to encourage drawing is a good thing, and to start a drawing or initiate a class as part of the Poly-technic in Knutton Road seems to make sense, in order to build confidence if nothing else. This will then at least attend to those ready to get a bit damp and perhaps that's enough? But it strikes me that its not as the big question continues to glare down - how do we create a relevant space conducive for renewed perception or flourishing? Do we give them fucking art as Tim would say or do we let them rub a mineral and hope like Salema acts of community cohesion spring forth - or do we start with the premise we are not in a deficit community, and instead grow the work, develop better vision through the act of seeing clearly - which i think means we dont know, but we will be looking better. I suppose in part its the Nabs question - i know what i can see but what am i looking at?
Still though with all this, Big Daves question: if its successful what does it do? slides into my head and still i dont know and i worry about not spending our ACE money wisely and with foresight.
