So the very good news is me and Kate have just found out we have been successful in our application to the arts council for a G for A. It's part of a new 70K project we have been hatching for the last 6 months.
People keep asking me what we have got the money for and I have been my usual evasive self -partly not to pin things down and partly as the project is very large and expansive.
In short it extends the work of the Poly-technic and builds on the ideas we have been working on for the last 8 years around the place for artistic practice, artists taking the lead, and how we can help to shape change in people and organisations.
We will be working with
The Hepworth and the Arthouse in Wakefield where we will be developing a summer school and other stuff
Abbyfield House, museum Sheffield and the Ruskin in Sheffield project where we will be developing opportunities link to the 200th anniversary of Ruskins birth in 2017
Lov and Trinity arts centre in Gainsborough with our good friends and academic partners Amanda Ravetz from MIRIAD and Ian Waites at Lincoln University - we will be thinking about Reverie and learning to daydream into the future.
The work will offer opportunities to other artists and as is our way focus on the production of new work with new audiences in what we have started calling the wider world.
