Join artists Pete Davies and Jean McEwan for an informal launch of their Simple Stories newspaper, which responds to Victorian writer and activist Edward Carpenter at the site of the Commonwealth Cafe which he ran between 1887 and 1888 as a radical social space for people to gather, share ideas and organise.

We invite you gather with us for a collective reading of the paper and an opportunity to think and talk about art and activism in Carpenters time and how that connects to the situations we find ourselves in now. We invite you to bring anything along to read (or sing) together. We will give out free copies of the newspaper (please notes this is a limited edition of 50 copies only, so first come first served!)
